What is a Mortice Lock?
A mortice lock is fitted into a pocket (the mortice) cut into the edge of a door, making it harder to attack than a surface-mounted lock. Types include mortice deadlocks and sashlocks (with a handle-operated latch). Look for 5 levers and BS3621 certification for insurance.
